Understanding UV / Corona Detection
Corona discharge is a localized electrical discharge that can occur around energized high-voltage equipment under certain electrical field conditions. Specialized ultraviolet cameras can detect UV emissions associated with this activity, helping identify areas that may warrant further investigation.
UV detection is a complementary inspection method. It does not replace electrical testing, engineering assessment, or other diagnostic techniques required to determine the cause and significance of a finding.
